Bars, Pubs and Restaurants
My first public gig was in a restaurant in the middle of Joburg, my audience was my family and that was it, I was so determined to make this my career that nothing could stop me and nothing has stopped me since that memorable night. That was more than 20 years ago, and I still get the same nervous feeling every time I have a gig, and thats good, because it means I am true to my art and I respect my gift.
Fast forward to my shows now and you will still see that young shy singer but I added a personality and from this I have a hunger to entertain through music. I am booked on average at least 4 times a week at venues, and sustain my career, by performing for corporate, weddings, parties and any other function where they require my style of entertainment. I have a connection to my regular audience and love seeing them come support and enjoy themselves in the venues that I entertain at. My goal is to fill the room to its largest capacity and form new relationships with the regulars by using my 3 hour non stop totally LIVE show.
My new found friends and I, build the night into a good old fashioned party night, that becomes a regular weekly slot for me and my venues, not to mention my “sales” skills which inflates the revenue when I perform.
The venues that I have performed at, include Paulaner Brauhaus and Quay four (V&A Waterfront), The Dubliner (Long Street), Pepperclub On The Beach (Camps Bay), The Brass Bell (Kalk Bay), Pirates Pub and Restaurant (Plumstead), The Tavern ‘n Ale (Diep River) and many more.
The “show” is my keyboard and me and a range of back tracks as well as unplugged ever green numbers that I perform with just a “piano”. I like to interact with my audience and enjoy going into the heart of the venue to infectiously bring everyone into my party zone.
